Temporary Bathroom when Remodelling
Take a Look around our websites for information on remodeling your bathroom.....Remodelling a bathroom can take some time and this can cause problems for home owners with a single bath/shower in the house. In even worse cases there may only be one toilet, in the house which is terrible if that toilet is out of service due to remodelling. Luckily we have some solutions to help with the process.
When the Bath/Shower is out of service: During remodelling your bath, shower, or both will always be out of service (or even non existent) for some period of time. This means that keeping clean can become a real problem, and in summer months will just not work. If you find yourself without any form of bath or shower during bathroom remodelling then the following solutions might work:
- Ask the neighbours to use their shower. If you have friendly neighbours who you are on good terms with, they may be willing to let you use their shower as required. Multiple neighbours can also spread the load of your family’s showering needs.
- Take sponge baths or use hot water and cloths. This method is best suited for smaller periods of time without a bath/shower.
- Use the shower at the gym or work. Taking a shower at work before you start or at the gym after you finish are ideal, and you are usually welcomed to use these services where available.
- If you have a public pool nearby, the low cost entry fee will give you access to swim as well as showers in the changing rooms.
- A small inflatable children’s pool outside with how buckets of water. Yes this does work, and it’s cheap!
When the Toilet is out of service: Although most homes will have more than one toilet, if for some reason you are down to zero due to remodelling there are options available to you.
- Purchase a chemical toilet. This is a small portable toilet which uses chemicals to control the contents and it’s smell.
- Hire a portable toilet. Like the toilets you find at events and fairs, its a large box which will sit outside. In the winter when less events are on, you may get a lower price due to lack of demand.
The best thing to do to avoid the situation of being without a toilet or shower for some time is to plan. Planning your remodelling will allow you to ensure the least downtime possible. Some time without these bathroom essentials may be unavoidable but at least you will know for how long and will be able to plan for an alternative.
Just remember that there are always options available to you if you have to go without a shower or toilet during a bath room remodel.
