Recycling and Remodelling a Bathroom
Take a Look around our websites for information on remodeling your bathroom.....
It’s human nature to love shopping and to buy new things, it gives us a little rush and at times we can buy things we don’t need on impulse. In terms of a project such as remodelling a bathroom, costs can spiral out of control with each purchase, while fancy stainless steel fixtures may be modern, they are expensive as well.
Recycling on a project such as bathroom renovations can help with cash flow in two main ways. Firstly as with many bathroom jobs, the demolition step at the start is rushed so that work can begin immediately on putting the new fixtures in. This is actually one of the biggest bathroom remodelling mistakes that someone can make. If you take the time to carefully remove each item and make as little damage as possible, you then have materials someone else could use in their bathroom. Building recyclers and other related businesses will pay good money for any recycled building materials, whether they be wooden, glass, and especially bathroom related items (toilet, baths and showers).
While recycling your own materials is a great way to bring cash flow into the equation, don’t go out to the shops and spend that money just yet. Building recyclers are also a great place to purchase items for your bathroom remodelling job. They often carry stock which is both modern and classic, so they have goods for any bathroom look or design. Although primarily building recyclers stock recycled (or second hand) stock, they will also have near new items and even new items that were brought by others new and never used.
One more tip that you should follow is to take your recycled items into a building recycler you see other items that you want and ask about trades. Trading into the recyclers will often get you a better rate, as they don’t have to pay cash for the items they are buying off you and it gets rid of stock they had sitting around (and replaces it with fresh stock), that’s a win all around.
Remember that bathroom remodelling is only as expensive as you make it. Save money where you can, but don’t cut corners in areas which could lead to expensive repairs later (such as waterproofing and fans to prevent mould).
